Education & Technology: Using Web-Base Platforms, to teach Evidence-Based Programs
When
19 Sep 2014
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location
Webinar
*THIS IS A 3 HOUR WEBINAR*
Generation Z, born between 1995 and present time, are living and experiencing a time of complete technology. These young people are comfortable with technology and are actively using to learn new information; search and post video; play and entertain themselves and most of all “network” online. In this workshop you will experience how web-based or e-learning platforms may be used to creatively teach evidence-based and/or continuum of care curriculums to our Generation Z technology enthusiast. The development of this workshop is done using Adobe products (Adobe Connect Platform and Adobe Captivate). Must have a computer/laptop, headphones and microphone to participate for this synchronous workshop (camera is optional).
Participants will:
Learn which software to use in developing content for the platform.
Learn how to pull video of Youtube and embed into platform.
Learn how to use polling questions to establish baselines in the platform.
Learn how assessments developed in Adobe Captivate may be used in the platform.
Learn how interactive activities developed in Adobe Captivate may be used in Adobe Connect.
Learn how to add links to websites, which may be reviewed in real time during the discussions.
Learn how this platform may be used to help practice reading skills, comprehension, drawing conclusions, critical thinking, and application. (Skills that research is showing that many or our at-risk populations need improvement).
Experience a simulation of an evidence-base Middle School Lifeskill Topic in the platform.
